Photographing weddings is not a matter of habit. Or rather: the practice helps but it needs to be put aside on that day.
Attention to people is the key. Attention towards the gestures, the nuances, what is important to the clients. As long as we take the time to get to know each other with the couple in the months before, it is on that day that we discover the relationships, the bonds, the dynamics between people. A wedding is where it all comes to the fore.
So the bride and groom want me with them for this. Because the time flies by on the wedding day. As slow as it seems during the months and weeks preceding the wedding, but when the day finally arrives, it burns through in a moment. It implodes and ends into a mixture of joy, fatigue and strong feelings, leaving the bride and groom stunned.
I am there for this. To stop time. To deliver to my clients the document of their day, the key to deciphering moments and emotions, bit at a later date, with due calm. A bit at a time, day by day, in the months and years to come. Dear Eleonora and Vincenzo, these are a pill of your day.
