Tenuta la Ginestra Wedding – ‘It will be fine’ I always say and that is what I said when I met Ilaria, the bride, and her mother just a few days before the wedding. The weather forecast was anything but comforting. And indeed Ilaria did not seem at all comforted by my words.
Still, the spirit and the desire to enjoy the wedding day no matter what are much more important and more influential on the climate of the day, than it is weather. That’s what I always tell brides that are worried about the dress, the guests, the convertible car, the outdoor cocktail and, last but not least, the pictures! Weather affects only a small part of the mood of the day if the spirits are high and the worries are low. The emotions of that day are much more important than a few rain drops.
But still, my invitation not to worry about the weather generally collects polite smiles and a lot of skepticism. Save for the fact than people will eventually realize during the wedding that it really is far more important to enjoy the day as it comes, weather and all. And far more rewarding.
On the other hand, it is appropriate to worry about who you are going to marry and, mostly, to have hired a good photographer. Capable of seizing the moments, the nuances, the non-verbal language. Who knows how to enhance emotions with elegant and evocative images, telling the story of a day that went well whichever way it went.
These are from Ilaria and Simone, on their perfect day.
