Wedding at Cenobio dei Dogi Camogli – There is something poetic about a wedding day. A poem that has the taste of authentic things. A solemn and informal poem at the same time, full of excitement. Not simple charm, but substance.
There are all the dear ones, friends looking at you, encouraging you, supporting you in a step that you wanted to celebrate, to be formally public. For whom you wanted all these people close to you. It’s not just a party. It is a rite of passage, a celebration of the feelings that bind many people. Not just the bride and groom among them. It has a dimension of nostalgia, of past experiences that created strong bonds. This is the reason why people get moved at weddings. Weddings are wrapped in a special halo. Poetry, in fact.
My photos can’t make do without all this. They cannot impose anything on memories. They must be transparent and arouse in the viewer the emotion that they portray. What images I will be able to create at a wedding, I don’t know in advance. I know it will be a step by step process, feeling my way in the dimension of the bride and groom and their friends and family, into what makes them unique and unrepeatable.
